Terms & Conditions

These terms form the agreement between you and Mongolian Spiritual Tours when you book a retreat, tour, or tailored journey with us.

Last updated: August 2026

1. Your contract

A contract comes into effect when we confirm your booking in writing and receive your deposit. The person making the booking confirms they are at least 18 years old and are authorised to accept these terms on behalf of everyone named on the booking.

2. Prices and what they include

Prices are quoted per person in euros and are based on shared ger or twin-room accommodation. Each tour page lists exactly what is included and excluded. Prices are guaranteed once your deposit is received, except where government taxes, permit fees, or domestic flight costs change beyond our control.

3. Payment

A non-refundable deposit of 25% of the tour price is due on booking. The balance is due no later than 60 days before departure. Bookings made within 60 days of departure require full payment at the time of booking. Bank transfer charges are the responsibility of the traveller.

4. Changes by you

If you wish to change dates or transfer to another departure we will do our best to accommodate you. Changes requested more than 60 days before departure incur an administration fee of EUR 100 per person plus any unrecoverable supplier costs. Later changes are treated as a cancellation under our Booking & Cancellation Policy.

5. Changes or cancellation by us

Mongolia is a wild country and itineraries occasionally change. We may adjust routes, accommodation, or the order of activities to protect your safety or comfort, keeping the character and quality of the journey intact.

If we must cancel a departure - for example because minimum numbers are not reached, or because of weather, permit refusal, or force majeure - you may transfer to another departure or receive a full refund of monies paid to us. We are not liable for your international flights or other independent arrangements.

6. Insurance is mandatory

Comprehensive travel insurance is a condition of travel. Your policy must cover medical treatment, emergency evacuation from remote areas, repatriation, trip cancellation, and personal belongings. We may ask to see your policy details before departure.

7. Health, fitness, and suitability

Our journeys involve long drives on unpaved roads, simple accommodation, high altitude in the Altai, and limited access to medical care. You must tell us at the time of booking about any medical condition, medication, dietary requirement, or mobility limitation. We may decline a booking where we cannot reasonably support your needs.

8. Ceremonies and cultural respect

Participation in shamanic or Buddhist ceremonies is always voluntary and is not a substitute for medical or psychological treatment. We ask all travellers to follow the guidance of our guides and hosts, to ask before photographing people or rituals, and to respect sacred sites and local customs.

9. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for holding a valid passport and any visa required, arriving on time for all arrangements, and behaving in a way that does not endanger or distress others. We may remove a traveller from a journey for unlawful or seriously disruptive behaviour, without refund.

10. Liability

We accept responsibility for arranging the services described in your confirmed itinerary with reasonable skill and care. We are not liable for loss or injury arising from events beyond our reasonable control, including weather, natural events, illness, strikes, border or permit decisions, flight delays, or the acts of independent suppliers.

11. Complaints

If something is not right, tell your guide immediately so we can fix it on the spot. If a matter remains unresolved, write to info@mongolianspiritualtours.com within 28 days of your return and we will respond in writing.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Mongolia, and any dispute will be dealt with by the courts of Ulaanbaatar.
